Kids as Leaders

          

A leader is someone with the positive personal traits, organizational, managerial and interpersonal skills necessary to motivate people.  A leader has vision, creativity, and persistence, and inspires confidence and trust in those around him/her.

Leadership Program 

The Junior Leadership Program is for all students 13 years old and younger who want to develop leadership skills that will serve them in all aspects of their lives. This program’s mission is to build future leaders of America for a better tomorrow. These students accept a higher level of responsibility as Ambassador’s of Songahm Taekwondo. They are distinguished with special uniforms and receive advanced level training in:

Taekwondo - Creative forms, Demonstration Team, Class Management Skills.
Weapons - 3 Sectional Staff, Kama, Sword, creative weapon forms.
Leadership Life Skills - Charisma, Passion, Responsibility, Courage, and many more.
Leadership Development - Communication, Public Speaking, Team Building, Motivation.
XMA - Combines gymnastics, dance, acting and martial arts.
Bully Prevention and When Bullying Turns Violent - How to confront and handle a bully through nonviolent techniques
Child Abduction - 10 most common techniques of an abductor, Kidz in Power Certification.
Peer Pressure - Techniques to handle peer pressure while remaining cool!

Leader by Example

Leadership starts with a role model.  We teach our students that one of the best ways to lead is by example.  Our leadership students take their role as examples for other students seriously.  They understand that as leaders they must always perform their very best in every situation. This young group of students is always surprising their parents and instructors with the level of understanding they have with regards to how other look up to them.  When you become a leader in the ATA the possibilities for your growth both in an out of martial arts become endless.

Leaders Communicate

Leaders must effectively communicate their vision.  By sharing that vision through effective communication, and using positive interpersonal skills, leaders can motivate people to accomplish extraordinary things! In today’s ever changing environment, being able to communicate your ideas the correct way is becoming more and more important.  Every ATA leader learns how to confidently stand in front of a group and present their ideas effectively.  The learn how to speak clearly, and command a room no matter who the audience.

The State Champion Program

Leadership students are eligible to compete for the title of State Champion.  These special competitors train hard and compete in their own division for a title that will set them apart from all the rest. All state champions wear their designation on their uniforms – a great way to be respected and looked up to by your fellow students.

Finding innovate ways to help each other is the key to effective leadership.  In this program you will learn important leadership traits through reinforcement, role-play, story telling, memorization, practice, and discussion.  In conjunction with Black Belt Club, Leadership Training offers students the skills to help others achieve their goals.
